We climbed into a very full Air New Zealand plane and found the service so much like the bygone days of Qantas when it used to have something like a sense of humour and a smile.
Their in-flight safety video was hilarious and people were unfailing helpful and sweet despite being packed to the gills.
Much of the trip your director fell into a coma - the best 6 hours of sleep she's had in the last 4 weeks while an unsleeping and maybe slightly bitter producer powered away on her laptop on the 101 things left to do.
We fell out - no dears just out of our very full plane in LA and discovered LA Freeways the easy way thanks to the Road Runner Shuttle. Still not too sure what most of our driver had said to us we dumped the bags full of pitch packs and postcards and ran out to explore the local area.
Los Feliz is gorgeous! Hilly and full of mature trees and shrubs and lots of different and interesting houses. We found a Rainbow flagged Community centre down the road almost immediately and met some very nice boys who assured us this was a Gay Friendly neighbourhood.
So now after settling in with our wonderful hosts Lucia and Rob and distracting ourselves in the most delightful way with little Olivia we set out to West Hollywood to have drinks at the OBar with the amazing Gary who proceeded to brainstorm on his contact list for who we should approach. Great conversation and lots of leads and we head back to the hills and sleep ready for our day of meetings with potential distributors etc. More to follow…
